With 2011 Schoolies Week nearly upon us, the excitement is starting to build. Your accommodation has been booked for over a year and your friends are organised and ready to party at the biggest School leavers festival in Australia.
With over 30,000 schoolies making the journey to the Gold Coast every year, the most asked question is: “What are the best things to do over schoolies week?”
After talking to a number of 2010 schoolies, researching a number of schoolies forums and also having a look at the official activities, I have compiled 2 lists:

THE TOP 10 THINGS TO DO DURING SCHOOLIES (By 1800SCHOOLIES)
1. Get down to the Gold Coast Schoolies Hub – Cavill Ave
2. Take a day trip to Dreamworld and Whitewater World
3. Go shopping at Pacific Fair
4. Spend an hour or two at Timezone
5. Take advantage of the Surfers Paradise beach activities including outdoor cinema
6. Kick back at the resort pool or the beach with mates
7. Grab a feed from the Hard Rock Cafe
8. Take a ride on the Vomitron or Bungey Rocket
9. Hire a scooter and go for a spin around Surfers Paradise
10. Be safe and have fun!
THE TOP 10 THINGS TO DO DURING SCHOOLIES ACCORDING TO SCHOOLIES
1. Drink until you think you’re a “Rock Star”
2. Kiss a stranger
3. Do a nudie run up Cavill Ave at midnight
4. Wake up one morning on the beach
5. Wake up the next morning at someones apartment that you don’t know the name of
6. Win every drinking game (Very Important)
7. Tear up every dance floor with various versions of the running man
8. Hook up with someone from your school group
9. Get through 7 days without a shower using the pool as a substitute
10. Survive

Some other important tips for Schoolies:
Check out your accommodation house rules – if your accommodation is damaged, or there are other issues, discuss immediately with your apartment manager
Underage drinking or using fake ID could land you with a $1875 fine.
Unwanted or forced sexual behaviour is a crime.
Police are there to help you – stay calm, listen and follow instructions.
Look out for schoolies volunteers – they’ll provide advice and support.
Respect that others live, work and visit the Gold Coast
Remember your medication – especially if you’re asthmatic, a diabetic or have epilepsy
Pack your school ID so you can get an official Schoolies Week ID for your chance to win prizes
If you are sexually active, practise safe sex
Be sun smart and drink plenty of water
